Frequently Asked Questions

  • My first major professional venture was the capstone project during my final semester of college, where our team developed the Historic Routes app, an augmented-reality historic tour of Downtown Vancouver, Washington. As part of the design team, my focus involved collaborating on branding elements like color palettes, typography, as well interface designs for the app.

In my first role in the world of design outside of college, I worked as Marketing Coordinator at Innovative Services NW, a Vancouver-based nonprofit catering to individuals with disabilities. Spearheading a successful brand refresh initiative, I revamped the organization's image with a modern touch, overseeing logo refresh, color palette updates, and new graphic styles applied across various mediums.

Transitioning into the agency world, I joined GTMA in 2020 as a Graphic Designer, contributing to the entire branding process for clients, from concept to finalization. My responsibilities included designing print materials like business cards and brochures, as well as digital assets such as social media content and display ads. Elevated to Lead Graphic Designer in 2021, I crafted comprehensive brand identities for clients, incorporating logo design, color palettes, typography, messaging, and various design materials.

In 2023, I assumed the role of Head of Design at GTMA, managing end-to-end branding and design projects, from full branding to web design, print collateral, social media assets, and more. As a branding and design specialist, I oversee design projects, provide expertise in design and branding topics, and pioneered Ready-Made Brand Kits for multi-family clientele.

Simultaneously, I continue freelance work for small businesses and entrepreneurs and pursue passion design projects in my free time.

  • I've been a lifelong artist, immersed in drawing and doodling ever since I could hold a pencil. I was the kid in class who adorned all my assignments with doodles. I also had a keen interest in various forms of design, storytelling through visuals, and a deep appreciation for fashion and interior design. My fascination with branding actually found its roots in the eras of Taylor Swift and how she masterfully tells stories and crafts unique identities for each album cycle.

In high school, my passion for drawing became more serious as I entered competitions and ventured into commissioned art. Two local music artists sought my skills for album artwork and merch design, marking my entry into the world of graphic design and branding.

While I never thought pursuing a career in design was feasible, my dad encouraged me to explore the Creative Media & Digital Culture program at Washington State University. Though initially daunting, the program introduced me to the intersection of technology and art, including web design and development, social media marketing, and video production alongside graphic design. Specializing in Multimedia Design, I soon realized that graphic design was my true calling, surpassing even my love for drawing.
